Dr. Jessica Nittler was born in Kansas City, MO and grew up in Shawnee, KS.

She attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City's expedited program where she obtained her undergraduate degree and M.D. in six years. She completed her psychiatry residency at The Menninger Clinic, a leading specialty psychiatric hospital and clinic.

Jessica moved to Columbia in 2004 after finishing her residency and started practicing at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital. She went on to work for 8 years at the University of Missouri Student Health Center, as well as serving as the Medical Student Clerkship Director and the Assistant Program Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program. She also has a passion for teaching and training the next generation of doctors, and remains on the faculty at the University.

Dr. Nittler is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. She started her private practice in 2014 to broaden her outreach in the Columbia community and to assist those who face emotional and behavioral challenges. Her training and experience has given her the skills and knowledge to diagnose and treat a wide variety of complex psychiatric illnesses. She has additional expertise in evaluating and treating physicians and other medical professionals, and served as a consultant for the Missouri Physicians Health Program. Dr. Nittler also serves as the psychiatric consultant for the University of Missouri Athletics Department.

Dr Nittler is experienced in the treatment of:

-Mood disorders, Dysthymia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder

-Anxiety disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, OCD

-Adjustment reactions in high functioning individuals/executives who face challenges in their school, work, or personal lives

-Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)

Dr. Kristin Parkinson is originally from Carrollton, MO, and has lived in Columbia since 1996.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Missouri in 2000. She went on to graduate from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 2004 and completed her residency training in psychiatry through the University of Missouri in 2008. Dr. Parkinson is a Tiger through and through!

Following her residency, Dr. Parkinson worked in community mental health for 8 years. She provided care for a wide range of patients throughout mid-Missouri and gained a vast knowledge of diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health disorders.

In July 2016, Dr. Parkinson joined Dr. Nittler in private practice to serve the growing mental health needs of Columbia and the surrounding areas. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Parkinson has a special interest in the treatment of women's reproductive mental health and the unique needs of emergency first responders.

DR. KRISTIN PARKINSON, M.D.

Andrea Earlywine is originally from rural Northeast Missouri and has lived in Columbia since graduate school in 2003.

 

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Truman State University in 2000 and later attended University of Missouri where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in mental health in 2005.  

 

She has worked in mental health and addictions treatment since 1996, starting in a residential facility for developmentally disabled individuals and residential adolescent and adult substance abuse treatment programs.  During her graduate program she worked as a clinical instructor for Mizzou as well as providing crisis intervention services and psychiatric consultation at a rural mid-Missouri hospital.  She has nine years of experience in her advanced practice role at various Central Missouri community mental health agencies and six years of additional inpatient and outpatient psychiatric work.  

 

In October 2019, she joined Dr. Nittler and Dr. Parkinson at Columbia Psychiatry to further address the broad needs for mental health treatment in Columbia and the surrounding communities.  She carries dual board certifications by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as both a Mental Health/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist.  She is also a registered yoga teacher, RYT-200, which informs her practice and supports her in providing mental health services through an integrative, holistic lens. 

ANDREA EARLYWINE, APRN-BC

Chloe was raised here in Columbia. 

 

She attended the University of Missouri, obtaining her undergraduate  degree in social work and completed her advanced training in counseling.  

 

She has spent over ten years working in mental health and customer service, and enjoys working with people where those two fields intersect. 

She finds passion in helping others and providing support to anyone she works with. In her time away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two dogs, as well as being active.
